A number of potential investors for Singkawang Airport (West Kalimantan) construction will observe the location of the airport construction in the middle of January.
“Hence, we have held a cross-sectoral preliminary meeting at the meeting room of Singkawang Mayor to prepare for the site visit. Singkawang Airport visit will be conducted from 15 to 17 January 2020, where investors will come from various countries,” Singkawang Mayor Tjhai Chui Mie said in Singkawang on Wednesday (8/1).
She revealed that her agency had prepared various agendas so that potential investors that came would not only observe the airport location, but they could also see investment opportunities in Singkawang development.
“Their main purpose of coming to Singkawang is checking the airport location, but we here in Singkawang have also prepared investment potentials, such as aerocity, Singkawang development, and various others,” she revealed.
Hence, the investor visit is a great opportunity, so Singkawang Local Government must be well-prepared in presenting these investment potentials to potential investors who come.
“I currently possess information that the potential investors will come from Singapore, Indonesia, and China,” she revealed.
Acting Head of Singkawang Transportation Agency Hendryan said that potential investors who would come did not only focus on the airport, but also on other sectors, such as the market, tourism objects, and others.
“It would be unfortunate if we did not take advantage of this opportunity to introduce [these investment potentials] to them [potential investors],” she said as quoted by Antara.
Then, to welcome the potential investors, Singkawang Local Government has formed a team that involves various sectors.
“Without the support of various OPDs (regional apparatus organisations), we from the Transportation Agency would not be able [to properly welcome the potential investors] as it is also the responsibility of Singkawang Local Government,” she said.
Based on the data received by Singkawang Transportation Agency, there are 50 companies that will come to Singkawang.
“They [the companies] come from Indonesia, Japan, China, Thailand, and Singapore. This data will be updated every day and hopefully [the total of companies] can increase until the day of the visit. Singkawang Airport site visit is planned to be attended by Transportation Minister and BKPM (Investment Coordinating Board) Head,” she explained.
