For those registering as non-wage earners (PBPU) or self-employed workers (BP), the registration process includes providing the following details:

• Name of the participant;
• National Identification Number (NIK) or Passport number;
• Permanent or Temporary Stay Permit Card (ITAP or ITAS);
• Limited Stay Visa number;
• A work permit issued by the appropriate authority for foreign nationals.

Participants must make their first payment within 14 to 30 days of registration to complete the process.

BPJS Kesehatan Mataram’s Head, Angga Firdauzie, highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to providing healthcare protection to everyone, including foreign nationals. He noted that Indonesia ensures equal access to quality healthcare services for all residents, without discrimination. Foreign nationals can register as JKN participants under either the non-wage earner (PBPU) or wage earner (PPU) categories.

“BPJS Health extends its healthcare services to foreign nationals living in Indonesia for at least six months. They are entitled to the same benefits as Indonesian citizens,” Angga said.
