The government will still boost infrastructure development in 2021. One of them is the freeway (toll road) which will be launched in 2021.
Director General of Highways, Hedy Rahadian, once said that most of the toll road development plans targeted would use the government-business entity (PPP) cooperation scheme.
“We have compiled the plan and the backbone of this freeway, most of which will be carried out using PPP, will become toll roads. So we are conveying that our toll road program plan in our plan is 18.8 thousand kilometers,” said Hedy in a joint working meeting. Commission V DPR RI.
He said the reason for the government to build toll roads was to pursue connectivity targets. With the toll road, it is expected that the travel speed can reach 100 kilometers (km) per 1.5 hours.
“We have made a general plan for expressways within the horizon that we can predict. Why do we need to design this expressway, because to achieve the connectivity target of 1.5 hours per 100 km,” said Hedy.
